Sunday the 24th of June saw Zara take to the stage for The Scream Lounge Grunge night.
An acoustic night dedicated to the grunge stars of the past.
Though Zara’s set was short at four songs they made the most out of each song.
Sarah on vocals and Bass bringing her own style to the set as always didn’t disappoint. Singing such songs as ‘Where is my mind’ by the Pixies, ‘Something in the way’ by Nirvana and ‘Everlong’ – Foo Fighters. Then taking to the stage at the end of the night to sing ‘Teen Spirit’ played by the house band.
David normally on drums was seen playing the Cajon. Picture an old vinyl player speaker except it doesn’t have the speaker in it rather than just a hole on the front and you have the Cajon.
New to the band on guitar was Joe, bringing his own style to the set. Very well played and no doubt we will be seeing more of him along the way.
As acoustic nights go normally I myself am not too big of a fan but seeing what Zara could do is bringing me round to a new way of thinking.
Zara as a whole never stoop amazing me with their on stage skill the way they at one point took songs known for heavy synth sounds and converted them to guitars .
As ever there’s not really a bad word to be said about the night. Great bands great music and a great atmosphere.
