In a shocking display of small mindedness and general gutter-press spin doctoring, the Irish Daily Star have reported that before her death Peaches Geldof had became ‘obsessed’ with the Suicide Girls Instagram page.

The tabloid rag claims ‘A post mortem carried out yesterday failed to determine what caused the 25-year-old TV star, writer and model’s death.

Medics are now awaiting the results of toxicology tests to find out if she had taken alcohol, drugs or both.

It comes after it was revealed Peaches had become obsessed by a “suicide girls” website depicting models covered in blood. Users on the extreme site openly talk about making death look good.

Its actually amazing what a newspaper will do to sell copies. I actually wonder if the journalist who wrote this story even bothered to do any research whatsoever on the ‘evil site’, but anyway I digress, the idiot continues ‘Last night it was revealed Peaches had recently started following a grimly-named “cult” SuicideGirls web page on Instagram which features alternative pin-ups displaying tattoos and body piercings.

The group, which boasts 1.3m followers, states: What some people think makes us strange or weird or f***** up we think makes us beautiful.

Oh no Tattoo’s and Piercings it must be evil and it must be responsible for Peaches Geldof’s death. One of the beautiful things about the Suicide Girls is that they believe that anyone can be a model especially if they have tattoos, piercings and curves, unlike in ‘normal’ culture where we have bland, stick thin models that rarely even look human, let alone female. this whole article is scapegoating, just to create a story. To be honest Peaches Geldof had a heavy on-line presence and no doubt followed many, many different pages. If you read between the lines here you’ll also realise that she wasn’t actually a member of Suicidegirls.com, she just followed their Instagram page….

The newspaper continues ‘The group’s macabre website features pictures of semi-naked models displaying tattoos and piercings.

One discussion topic on its forum — set up just two days ago — is entitled: “Is it possible to make Death look good?”

Commenting on its name it adds: “SuicideGirls seemed like a good way to describe the girls who projected confidence and individualism, whose staunch refusal to conform equated to social suicide.” ‘

The whole article in the Irish Daily Star is completely fabricated, for one purpose to sell papers, irregardless of the damage and scaremongering that its doing. Notice that not once does it actually come out and say that the Suicide Girls are to blame for the death of Peaches Geldof, it simply implies it, so as not to slander the site and the company in general.

We love the Suicide Girls here at the Black Flag for lots of reasons but mainly because it celebrates beauty that would be frowned upon by the mainstream modelling industry who have an unnatural and unhealthy definition of sexiness and one which encourages young girls to stick their fingers down their throat, in order to adhere to this shallow definition of beauty. To be honest the mainstream is causing so many problems for so many women these day’s and having lived with a girl with Bulemia I know this. Sites like Suicide Girls should be applauded and not scapegoated by a small minded petty little rag that is using the death of a young women to line their grubby little pockets…..
