Tomorrow (Saturday 21st April) is officially Record Store Day 2012. For anybody unaware of this event, Record Store Day started in the USA in 2007, when over 700 independent stores came together to celebrate the art of music. The UK followed suit and now the event is in its fifth year.
Record Store Day was established to get people back into shops buying records, instead of downloading music and ordering from from places like Amazon, Ebay, iTunes etc.
To celebrate a number of artist’s have produced limited edition tracks available on Record Day only. One of which grabbed our attention like a Nail bomb. It was of course the news that the Sex Pistols ‘Anarchy in the UK’ was being reissued on limited edition 7in Vinyl.
‘Anarchy in the UK’ was the first single released by the iconic Punk band that shaped a generation and its fitting to see the track used in conjunction with an event like this. There’s only been 35000 copies pressed so get down to your local independent retailer tomorrow and pick one up, its bound to be a collector’s item in a few years.
And do check out the artwork above….
