If you’re a fan of proper rock ‘n’ roll, with all the bells and whistles, long haired, tight pants wearing and tattooed then you will have heard of The Treatment. If you haven’t then prepare yourself for a round of lashes good sir because you are guilty of criminal ignorance!
I’m proud to say we do a lot of things right in the UK, and Cambridge’s own rockers The Treatment are certainly waving the flag for what real rock n roll is in the UK and all over the world. If this is your first taste of The Treatment then sit back because you’re in for one hell of a… well… treat.
These guys have already released some quality work but this new album feels like a new step on a long journey, a real sense of workmanship has gone into this, not to say they don’t always, but this feels a little more mature. Opening track ‘I Bleed Rock + Roll’ is less a foot tapper and more of a head banger, I can’t write while I’m listening to this, it’s just too good to be back ground music and every song that follows is equally as energetic. If you are the kind of person that can’t listen to AC/DC or Airbourne without jigging like a Parkinson’s patient on a roller coaster then this will definitely fuck up your productivity. Don’t plan on listening to this while cooking or trying to catch up on office work, it won’t get done, order a pizza, get some beers in and get smashed while you shake the old grey matter up a little.
Other than the opening track my personal favourite would have to be ‘The Outlaw’, it’s got that real old school GnR feel about if, for those of you who remember GnR before Axl Rose disappeared up his own arse, this will be a pleasant trip down memory lane. There’s a definate nod to the 80’s in these songs too, a band that isn’t afraid to wear their influences on their sleeve is a welcome relief from the constant rehash of that decade being thrown about. Tracks like ‘Emergency’ and ‘World on Fire’ rub shoulders nicely with the likes of Motley Crew, Aerosmith and countless other contemporaries.
Running With The Dogs finally gets uncaged on 3rd February 2014 so get yourself down your local record store (if there are any left) and grab yourself a copy of this amazing album. Catch up with all things The Treatment on their FaceBook page, for now here is the video for ‘I Bleed Rock + Roll’. Enjoy head shakers.
