Ear Drum chewing bad boys The Smoking Hearts are ploughing through the UK like a squadie through a cheap prostitute and bringing the noise in the form of Victory!, an epically aggressive concoction of war anthems.

It’s a no holds barred opening from the UK band with the gut wrenching Off With  Your Head and the guys make no apologies for the outwardly aggressive nature of the track as it leads into a barrage of skull raping songs, each as rage-fuelled as the last and smashing it’s way to the animal part of your brain. The next track showcases the quality of the group, not just screaming Trash-Punk hit and hopers, but real musicians who have skill and the ability to form complete tracks that flow well and sound sharp.

There’s a pleasant simplicity about this album, it’s a middle finger in the face of nancy, half-hearted, I’m 18 and angry at my parents, rock-wannabe losers, a statement that this band, with all it’s aggression and rage can still play perfectly, produce great lyrics and throw in some guitar solos for good measure.

The track that tickles my trousers? that has to be Natural Disasters,  that opening scream made my bum-hole twitch a little and continues chiseling away at any sense of reason to leave you just wanted to smash everything. It’s a mark of a good band that they can produce strong emotion in the listener and what we have here is, depending on your mood, either the ultimate catharsis or the prelude to a bloody good fight, either way it’s gotta be good for the soul.

Victory! smashes it’s way onto general release on 25th March 2013 but you can get all the information you need by skipping on over to the bands Website, or maybe even a little look at FaceBook or Twitter. For now here is the amazing Off With Your Head (and a van).
