Green Day today announced that their documentary will premiere at this years X Games. The aptly named ¡Quatro! follows the boys during the writing and recording of their triology of albums named ¡Uno!,¡Dos! and ¡Tré!. Highlights from the documentary, which also features clips of live performances, has already been shown on VH1 back in November, although at the time it was described as a ‘work in progress’.
“This is the first time in 20 years that we are actually inviting people into the process. This is not a fully thought out thing yet,” said singer Billie Joe Armstrong, “We were so used to presenting ourselves before, but this time we had nothing. It was back to that ‘prove it to me’ [attitude],”
The band, who will start touring again in March, will attend the screening in Aspen, Colorado, and will be answering questions that fans have posted on the X Games Facebook page.
¡Quatro! will be shown at the Wheeler Opera House on 26th January. For anyone unable to hotfoot it over to Colorado in time for the premiere, here are the highlights.
