Friday the 19th October 2012 saw the first ever Black Flag Club Night open its doors at Kings Cross’s first Eco club, the wonderful Surya.
Although it had been a miserable day Weather wise we still managed to pull in the punters and have an excellent evening.
We had a great line-up for the evening and all bands put in 10%. First up we had the 80’s glam rock inspired lunatics Medusa who put on excellent, though slightly longer than expected set.
Next we’re rock/hip hop fusion band ‘Kickstarter’, who quickly won over the crowd, followed by ‘Listen Zara’ playing a mix of original tracks and really dark covers. This is a band that’s constantly evolving and getting better and better. They are apparently working on an album, so keep your eyes and ears pealed for this.
Up next on stage was the fantastic House Party Massacre, our youngest band of the Evening. HPM played an incredible set to much applause before London Punk duo Taurus Trakker took to the stage and kept the crowd dancing right up until headline act Sanguine were ready to take to the stage.
Sanguine are an excellent band and we were very lucky to get them to perform. They played a rip roaring set and literally tore up the stage.
So yeah it was an excellent night and we’re planning on doing a quarterly club night to showcase our favourute bands that are featured on the site.
