Argumentative intellectuals of Punk Rock Bad Religion have released the title track from their upcoming album True North. The track, a classic Bad Religion guitar-fest, is a whining tale of not fitting in and running away to find yourself.
Bad Religion have been chipping away at the brains of questioning young upstarts for years now, poring knowledge into the ears of the confused and anti-intellectual. Questioning everything from religion to politics is in the nature of what Greg Graffin and the rest of the band do, and that is the truest form of Punk available in the world today.
The track itself is a great ride, from screaming opening to it’s premature end the lyrics are thought-provoking, relevant to society today but still delivered in way that isn’t preachy or pushy. You can listen to the message if you want but all in all Bad Religion don’t give a fuck, as they put it in the first reveal from the album simply entitled “Fuck You”.
Bad Religion have proved time an again hat they can do no wrong and whatever they decide to release we will lap it up and beg for more. The true godfathers of Punk Rock are still going strong and delivering quality that is ageless and as current today as it was all those years ago, seemingly with a constant finger on the pulse of society, I can’t wait to hear the rest of the album.
