Floridian five-piece Anberlin announce their first UK shows since their 2011 sell-out tour and appearance at Sonisphere Festival.
In support of their sixth studio album ‘Vital’ – the follow-up to their Billboard top-10 smash ‘Dark Is the Way, Light is a Place’ – the million-selling band are set to showcase what front man Stephen Christian described as their “most aggressive [record] to date”.
Since forming a decade ago Anberlin have toured the globe extensively including support slots with 30 Seconds To Mars and Linkin Park, had a number one song on American alt radio with ‘Feel Good Drag’ and smashed into the mainstream. ‘Vital’ brings everything the band have learned during their time together while reinvigorating the music with the spark that initially fuelled them during their early years of slogging around the country in a van. Stephen, in particular, was inspired by Anberlin’s history of raucous live shows and aimed to infuse the new music with that palpable raw vigour: “I recognise now that what I love the most about Anberlin is the high energy, the high momentum, the veins that are popping from necks when the fans scream along. That’s the most fun. That is where I feel like Anberlin exists, in those situations – that’s where we excel.”
